The Anne Bradley Emerson Award Scholarship

The Anne Bradley Emerson Award Scholarship is open to graduating students from Hartford High School, Hartford Career and Technical Center, and the Mid-Vermont Christian High School, and it is awarded to a student anticipating further study in the fields of horticulture, botany, agriculture, forestry, conservation, landscape architecture, and environmentally allied studies.  Applications are sent to the schools in March.


2027 Application Deadline: May 1, 2027

Applications may be obtained through the guidance counselor offices at the participating schools listed above. Completed applications may be submitted by US Post or email to be received by QGC no later than May 1, 2027.

2026 Recipient: Rowan Dumont

Rowan Dumont is this year’s recipient of the Quechee Garden Club’s 2026 Anne Bradley Emerson Award Scholarship.

Rowan pursued a demanding course load at Hartford High School including significant AP course work. She was one of a handful of Hartford High School seniors to initiate and complete an Honors Program independent study project. Her academic achievements ranked her #2 in her class.

Rowan excelled in varsity sports including soccer and tennis. She served her school community on the student council and National Honor Society. She participated in the Environmental Club, Student Equity Committee, World Language and Culture Club, and Athletic Leadership Council. Several awards stands out, including being nominated for and receiving the Rachel Carson Healthy Plant Award.

Rowan has directed her considerable energy and talents towards establishing social connections and creating environmental awareness and action in her community. She has been employed at various local businesses which reflect values of sustainability. She will be pursuing the study of Environmental Science at Mt Holyoke College. Her goal is to “make an impact in our pursuit to protect the plant”. Rowan, we’re grateful to plant a small part in helping you achieve this.
