2025 Recipient: Geneva M. Durgin

Geneva M. Durgin of Wilder is this year’s recipient of the Quechee Garden Club’s 2025 Anne Bradley Emerson Award Scholarship.

Geneva is a graduate of Hartford High. In addition to her scholastic achievement in the National Honor Society and outstanding athletic ability in Track and Field, Geneva served as co-president of the Environmental Club.  Her strong commitment to sustainable environmental practices is evident. At Hartford High, she leads a composting and recycling operation where plastics are recycled into low-cost building materials through the NexTrex program. She also took over garden beds on campus and donated the produce to the Haven.

Last summer she traveled to the Amazon region of Peru where she helped plant fruit trees to provide food and source of income for people there. Outside of school, she’s worked at Crossroad Farm Stand for 3 years.

Geneva plans to attend University of North Carolina, Wilmington majoring in Environmental Science.

We are thrilled to offer Geneva this award, and we wish her continued success at UNC Wilmington.
